My plans of becoming a tattoo artist started in 2013 in Istanbul Turkey; I won an award for best artist and was asked what my future plans are and I replied “I want to be a tattoo artist”. I originally started tattooing because I had a special intern in art and wanting to bring the two worlds together with my own techniques. I started by practicing tattooing on myself, and then slowly started tattooing friends; I moved to the U.S. at the end of 2016 and worked for local shops. Throughout that time, I became a better artist and started tapping into different types of designs & styles. Being a tattoo artist is fun for me because I get to do something that I love. It never gets boring to me because I’m constantly drawing and creating new ideas for my clients. I’m taking clients ideas and bringing them to life, and just watching them smile after I tattoo them makes everything worth it. I’m constantly meeting new people along the way, which is always an added benefit. I remember when tattooing was labeled as a bad thing because it was believed to be for a stereotypical kind of person, but throughout the years, it has lost that stigma. Moving to Dallas was a huge step for me; I’ve had the chance to work with other talented tattoo artists and has taught me new styles that I’ve incorporated into my work.
